Mylar decals have a clear film between the letters that allows your paint to show through, but you will see the outline of the material. Most customers purchase the Mylar decals because of price. Installation Tips: Do not use water, detergents or any other application fluids during the installation. Be Sure to store your decals within the original packaging and in a cool dry place until you are ready to install them. Make sure the surface is cool, and free of dirt, oils, and grease. It’s a good idea to do a dry run by attaching the decals with a small piece of tape, prior to peeling off the backing. Stand back a few feet and check for alignment. It’s always a good idea to look at them a couple of times. Now make a small mark on at least 3 edges with a piece of tape, a pencil or any other water soluble marker. Using a rubber or soft plastic squeegee, SLOWLY work from the center then outwards. Once applied be sure the decal is secure prior to peeling off the backing. Start at one edge and SLOWLY pull the backing at a 45 degree angle. Application Procedure: Trim border of design if necessary prior to removing white backing paper (this would only be done if there was more than one decal on the paper, most decals are already pre-cut). Lightly spray the area with window cleaner (do not use window cleaner in aerosol can). Peel white backing paper from decal and place in position. Squeegee window cleaner from under decal beginning in the center and working outward. If air bubbles occur, puncture with pin and smooth down. p/n0755
