Extremely heavy duty lifting tongs with lots of leverage. These are made from SOLID 1-3/8" round bar, weigh in at 50# and are 48" long. Forged ends made on a power hammer. These were originally used to lift raw cast aluminum ingots. They work great for lifting anything from rocks to logs. The 24" of leverage from the pivot point give tons of holding power. These were designed to be used with a cable attached to the clevis pin and routed through the pulley and works good like this, you will need to provide your own cable. I have another pair that I fitted with a chain connecting both ends and a large clevis connected in the center for lifting. I have set retaining wall rocks in place with these and they work great allowing you to twirl the rock in the direction you want while the tongs are suspended from the cable. I have also lifted rectangular concrete chunks with these by welding angle iron to the tines and bolting a piece of rubber to it. They will pick up a small 6" log but work best in the 10" to 24" range. These will grab up to a 34" log but the bark needs to be off and you need to set the spikes as the throat is not deep enough to get past the center of the log very well. These come only as shown, they have surface rust and the pulley might need to be taken apart and freed up. The lifting tongs were purchased from an aluminum smelter that closed in 2013 on the Ohio / West Virginia border that had been in business since 1955. This was a real American factory, with a full machine shop, metal shop, electric motor repair shop, a complete blacksmith shop, you name it they had it all employing 2,000 people in their heyday.
